Start-up Marketing Plan: Virtual Internship

Our organization is able to offer a virtual internship opportunity for marketing students or teams. I'd be happy to explain in further detail as you see fit. The primary focus for the student will be: Review and Understand Our Branding - assess where and how to improve our brand's presence and understand how we differentiate from our competitors. Honeydew stands alone in the caliber of our consultants and the benefits we provide them; a factor which attracts clients/recruits but is difficult to convey in a digestible format. Market Research - Investigate our competitive landscape (Epic Systems specific Healthcare IT for electronic medical records) and perform market segmentation to identify the ideal target market for potential future consultants and hospital organizations. Work to gain insights into the perceptions and behaviors of our target customers to help identify expansion opportunities, and better hone key messaging for Honeydew. Specific to Epic Healthcare IT (and even more specifically Beaker, the lab application) it is challenging to find appropriate stakeholders at hospital organizations and understand their driving forces for selecting approved vendors. Marketing Communications - Recommend changes to advertising and PR materials by creating an integrated marketing campaign. So far marketing has been limited to very targeted individuals (Linked In messaging, email flyers, some social media/blog/website posts), a single airport ad, and word of mouth. The latter has been the most impactful by far, so we know there is more to accomplish if we improve our messaging and strategy. SEO and Strategic Social Media Marketing - Conduct an audit of our current social media presence and other current communication channels to develop and implement strategies for improving our online presence and increasing engagement. Our goal at the end of this experience is: (please indicate the goal for this placement, or deliverable you expect the student(s) to complete, as exemplified below) Our Branding - For the students to help us improve our brand's presence and capture greater market share. Review current our current branding platform and provide recommendations to be more impactful. Market Research - For the students to help us gain a better understanding of our target market and ensure we are optimally positioned to engage with prospective clients. Marketing Communications - For the students to help us implement better prospecting that increases our access to Master Service Agreements and create a scalable plan for future expansion including helping us effectively communicate our brand's story and mission to a broad, yet targeted, audience. This can include a review/updates to our current marketing materials. SEO Strategy & Strategic Social Media Marketing - For the students to help us generate more traffic and build goodwill/reputation through search engines and social media while effectively promoting our overall brand with compelling content. Other duties the student may complete could include : Content development, including social posts, blog posts, LinkedIn articles, and website copy.
