Mobile-optimization of card ordering experience
The Kaboo app is currently a web-based application available on the Kaboo website. To use the product, customers goes through a step-by-step process of providing their information into forms that are broken down into multiple screens. There is little opportunity for users to edit their provided information once they have gone past that screen. There is also a tediousness to editing because it requires users to repeat certain screens. simplifying UI for a web app that is generally viewed on mobile giving more visibility to different features which currently get lost in the serial/linear flow creating a UX/UI experience that can translate easily from a web app to an iOS or Android app
UI/UX for Admin Portal
Kaboo is a product aimed at making it easier to send and receive physical mail, especially for internationally located folks, but with a modern twist. Users can send cards without ever having to go to go to the post office, and have intl mail be received at a fraction of the cost and within 3-4 business days. In addition, their cards are also digitally preserved in the app to grow their relationship with their recipients. This is possible through an array of card designs, both user generated and created/procured by team Kaboo + Kaboo's printer partners around the world who enable localized last-mile delivery of these cards by reprinting and mailing it using local mail. This project is about the admin FE experience. An admin is Kaboo will either be a Kaboo staff person who works in a vendor and customer support capacity. The admin portal would need the accomplish the following a. Enable the admin to add/remove/archive card designs b. Set up a printing partner, and also add/remove/archive printing partners c. Ability to track the status of a card based on their card ID or information provided by the customer - eg: is the card with printer, is the card stuck? d. have an Admin dashboard to track key metrics or alerts Note -- this is different from a customer settings page. The completion of the project will enable Kaboo's CEO to provide designs to the dev team on the best experience to ensure seamless customer support to printing partners, and Kaboo customers.
Packaging for a Digital-Physical Greeting Card Based Communication Experience
Kaboo is searching for a team to guide us on building a packaging experience for our product. We are creating a unique consumer good offering, and changing how consumers send and receive greeting cards. For that purpose, we need help in designing the packaging and unboxing experience uniquely designed greeting cards that connect to a broader kid-focused, family-friendly, and mental well-being oriented digital communications experience. SUMMARY AND HOW IT WORKS - Our product is offering a low-tech solution that enables parents to help their kids keep in touch with remotely situated loved ones. By combining a digital platform with physical cards, Kaboo is a fun, frictionless way for long-distance connections to keep in touch, especially when the individuals are children between the ages of 7-14. It starts with a card -- the child will write a handwritten message on the card. Next, the parent simply scans the QR code on the card (each card has a unique QR code for that particular card), that allows them to upload a image of the handwritten note, and then just select the recipient and press send. No stamps, no trips to the post office. The sender can also attach any digital media like a photo or voice note to the card. Kaboo will re-print the card with the message, and mail it over to the recipient's address. If the sender does not have the recipient's address, no problem -- kaboo will get ask the recipient. Thus, no more having cards that you "forget" to mail out. The recipient experience is even more fun -- Kaboo informs the recipient that there is a card on the way for them from the sender. When they finally receive it in their mailbox, the recipient can scan the same QR code on the card -- which notified the sender that the recipient has received the card. And also allows the recipient to view any digital media that accompanies the card. Preserving these physical cards becomes a piece of cake -- Kaboo's platform automatically preserves these sent messages on the portal -- ensuring that these keepsakes remain that way. GOALS Our goal is to design not just a packaging product but a unique experience that informs, inspires, and sparks joy for every customer, especially for first time customers of Kaboo. Given that this is a novel experience, the packaging needs to provide customers with a clear education of how our product works, an understanding of our vision, and a desire to benefit from the product. Further, when a customer unboxes or receives their Kaboo cards, we want them to understand how to use the card in an uncomplicated manner, and invite them to explore all of the Kaboo app's digital experience. Our goal is to provide a seamless, fun experience with the Kaboo packaging and use of the cards. Logistically a customer would purchase a subscription or an on-demand package of 5-15 cards. They would order these cards from the Kaboo website. We are also looking for assistance in sourcing and choosing the most reliable, cost-efficient, and appropriate packaging for our cards, as well as the various design and informational elements needed to build a memorable experience.
