Fundraising Plan for Rockland

Hitmakerz is an innovative social enterprise that empowers creatives to share their stories, strengthen their culture, and create sustainable careers. To do this, we forge creative partnerships between our partners and patrons. We would like to collaborate with students to develop a fundraising plan to meet our goals for our latest project, Rockland. Rockland is an innovative new housing development which aims to help provide affordable housing for creative professionals, as well as new immigrants to Canada and refugees.  The houses are built using up-cycled materials (including shipping containers) and the construction process doubles as supervised training for aspiring tradespeople.  The houses aim to be 90% "self-sufficient" with local, renewable energy generation (wind, solar, etc.), food and water supply (greenhouses, hydroponic farming, rain collection, etc.), self-contained waste management (composting toilet, compactors, etc.), and more. The project aims to help reduce Canada's contributions to climate change, and support the circular economy through recycling, regeneration, and re-use of resources.  It also aims to support people in the local communities by providing housing and social support to people who are either in need of affordable housing or who contribute to Canadian culture. The project also aims to bring Canadians closer to nature by designing the houses to be aesthetically and functionally integrated into the nature around them, striking a perfect balance with nature, and being as ecologically sustainable and low-impact as possible.
