Details

DiversityTalk aims to foster a vibrant online community that champions equity, diversity, and inclusion. This project focuses on developing thoughtful and engaging social media content that resonates with diverse audiences and encourages meaningful dialogue and community engagement.

Learners will create a series of posts that highlight key themes related to EDI, applying their skills in social media strategy, content creation, and digital engagement. They will design content that is both informative and visually compelling, schedule and publish posts across multiple platforms, monitor community interactions, and track key performance metrics such as engagement rates, reach, and audience growth.

In addition to content creation, learners will analyze the impact of their work and provide insights and recommendations to inform DiversityTalk’s future digital strategies. This project is ideally suited for students specializing in marketing, communications, or related fields who are passionate about using digital media to promote social change.

Tasks and Activities:

  • Research and create social media content (posts, stories, short videos) aligned with DiversityTalk’s mission.
  • Design visually appealing graphics and copy that spark conversations around equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Develop and maintain a monthly content calendar across platforms (e.g., Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook).
  • Monitor comments and community engagement; respond where appropriate.
  • Track and report on key metrics (engagement, reach, audience growth) on a biweekly basis.
  • Analyze trends in social justice and EDI to inform ongoing content creation.
  • Provide an end-of-project report summarizing outcomes and suggesting improvements for future social media efforts.
Deliverables

Deliverables:

  • A comprehensive social media content calendar.
  • 3–5 original social media posts per week (graphics, captions, videos).
  • Biweekly performance analytics reports with insights and recommendations.
  • Final summary report evaluating project impact and suggesting future strategies.

Each post should be accompanied by a brief rationale explaining its relevance and intended impact. Additionally, learners will provide a report analyzing the performance of the content, using metrics such as likes, shares, comments, and follower growth. This report will offer insights and recommendations for future content strategies, ensuring DiversityTalk can continue to build an engaged and inclusive online community.
