Mimicry is a growing social media-based platform that helps Canadian post-secondary business students navigate their internship journeys — from landing their first role to excelling once they’re on the job.
We share practical, relatable content on topics like resume writing, interview preparation, and tips for succeeding during an internship. The page was started by our founder in December 2024 while on his own internship hunt, with the goal of making the process more transparent and accessible for other students.
Today, Mimicry is expanding its reach to provide even more detailed, actionable resources — including weekly newsletters — to help students build real-world skills, stand out to employers, and launch their careers with confidence.

Newsletter Writer
To support the growth and engagement of the Mimicry community by crafting high-quality, relevant, and actionable weekly newsletters. This includes: 1. Performing market research to identify content trends, competitor strategies, and the evolving needs and interests of our target audience (Canadian post-secondary business students). 2. Writing and editing weekly newsletters that provide value, drive engagement, and strengthen Mimicry’s brand as a go-to resource for career and business skill development. 3. Contributing creative ideas for future newsletter formats, sections, or features based on audience feedback and performance data.
Social Media Intern
The goal of this project is to grow and engage Mimicry’s social media audience — with a focus on TikTok and LinkedIn — to drive brand awareness, grow the newsletter subscriber base, and build a vibrant student community. Tasks and activities: Conduct market research to identify content trends, hashtags, and formats that resonate with Mimicry’s target audience (Canadian post-secondary business students). Develop and propose content ideas that align with Mimicry’s brand and strategic goals. Create engaging social media content (short-form videos, text posts, graphics) using tools like Canva, CapCut, or native platform editors. Write captions and research hashtags to optimize reach and engagement. Assist in scheduling and posting content on TikTok and LinkedIn. Monitor social media performance (views, likes, comments, shares, follower growth), and provide insights and recommendations for improvement. Engage with the community by responding to comments, DMs, and participating in relevant discussions. Deliverables: Market research & trend report (1–2 pages) — content ideas & best practices based on current trends. Social media content calendar — a simple monthly plan of posts to be created and shared. Weekly content — 3–5 social media posts per week (exact number can be adapted based on capacity and platform). Monthly performance report — brief summary of key metrics, what worked well, and ideas for future improvement.
