Details

Kinexus Bioinformatics Corporation is seeking to develop a test that identifies connections between key cell communication proteins. The goal of this project is to create a prototype tool that can map and visualize interactions among a select group of proteins involved in cellular signaling pathways. This project will allow learners to apply their knowledge of bioinformatics, molecular biology, and data visualization techniques. The tool should be user-friendly and capable of integrating existing protein interaction data to provide insights into cellular communication networks. By focusing on a specific subset of proteins, the project aims to deliver a proof-of-concept that can be expanded upon in future research. The project will involve tasks such as data collection, algorithm development, and visualization design, all of which are closely related and manageable within the given timeframe.

Deliverables

The project deliverables include a functional prototype of the Protein Interaction Mapping Tool, complete with a user interface and visualization capabilities. Additionally, a comprehensive report documenting the development process, methodologies used, and potential applications of the tool will be provided. The deliverables should also include a presentation summarizing the project's outcomes and future directions for further development.
