As Hilo Smart Mirror, our primary goal is expanding market reach through strategic B2C marketplace partnerships and wholesale distribution channels across Canada and the United States. We currently maintain active presence on Best Buy, Walmart, and YLighting platforms, but recognize significant untapped potential in our market segments.


Our core objectives include:

β€’ Identifying and evaluating high-impact B2C marketplaces specializing in smart home technology, bathroom fixtures, and mirror solutions

β€’ Establishing strategic wholesale partnerships with electrical distributors, smart home retailers, and bathroom fixture specialists focusing on LED mirror and smart mirror products

β€’ Creating comprehensive outreach and negotiation strategies for marketplace onboarding

β€’ Developing sustainable channel partnerships that align with our turnkey smart mirror solutions

β€’ Expanding our reach to serve both direct consumers and wholesale distribution networks


  • This project will leverage our integrated hardware-software model to position Hilo Smart Mirror as the preferred choice for LED mirrors (electric) and electronic smart mirrors featuring touchscreen capabilities, Google Assistant and Alexa voice control integration, and comprehensive smart home connectivity.
Deliverables

By the end of this project, students should complete the following key deliverables with specific success metrics:


**RESEARCH & IDENTIFICATION PHASE:**

β€’ Create a comprehensive market analysis identifying AT LEAST 20 potential B2C marketplaces and wholesale distributors across Canada and the United States specifically for LED mirrors and smart mirror products

β€’ Develop detailed competitor analysis showing marketplace presence, pricing strategies, and market positioning for LED mirror and electronic smart mirror solutions


**OUTREACH & NEGOTIATION PHASE:**

β€’ Establish outreach templates and negotiation frameworks for both B2C platforms and wholesale partnerships in the mirror and smart home sectors

β€’ Execute initial contact with all identified prospects and advance AT LEAST 10 qualified opportunities into active negotiations

β€’ Create standardized evaluation criteria for assessing marketplace requirements, fee structures, and partnership potential for mirror product categories


**PARTNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PHASE:**

β€’ Successfully onboard AT LEAST 5 new distributors and marketplaces capable of supporting our complete mirror catalogue (all 6 Hilo flagship models)

β€’ Develop go-to-market strategies for each successfully onboarded channel, including product positioning for LED mirrors and smart mirrors with touchscreen and voice control features

β€’ Ensure each new partnership can accommodate our full product range from basic LED mirrors to premium electronic smart mirrors


**IMPLEMENTATION & DOCUMENTATION:**

β€’ Compile contact databases with key decision-makers at target marketplaces and distribution companies specializing in bathroom fixtures, smart home technology, and mirror solutions

β€’ Present actionable recommendations with prioritized partnership opportunities and next-step implementation strategies

β€’ Deliver comprehensive project documentation including market research findings, partnership evaluation matrices, and strategic recommendations for immediate business implementation


**SUCCESS METRICS:**

β€’ Minimum 20 qualified prospects identified

β€’ Minimum 10 active negotiations initiated

β€’ Minimum 5 new partnerships successfully onboarded
