Students will analyze soil samples from various fields at River Valley Ranch to assess nutrient levels, organic matter content, and soil structure. The goal is to identify areas for improvement and recommend sustainable, organic-approved practices to enhance soil health and crop yield. This will involve researching cover cropping, composting techniques, and reduced tillage methods applicable to our region and our mixed vegetable and berry production.
A comprehensive soil health report detailing current conditions and key findings from tests,A presentation outlining recommended sustainable soil management practices tailored to Green Pastures Organics,A 3-year phased implementation plan for the recommended practices, including potential costs and benefits,Fact sheets on 2-3 specific soil improvement techniques (e.g., benefits of a specific cover crop mix suitable for our soil type).)
