The purpose of the channel is to provide new marketing leaders, ongong learners and young company founders information on the changing field of marketing and what they need to know to run a marketing department or small team.
Often marketing leaders find themselves running a department and realize, while they know some areas of marketing they don't have expertise in every area. Also, marketing technologies and techniques are changing at a rapid pace and this can cause marketing leaders to feel overwhelmed. The Marketing Share is designed to provide leaders a quick 'need to know' for various aspects of marketing. It provides a top line understanding of the topic and references for more information, because when you run marketing the questions, come to you. The Marketing Share targets new marketing leaders, ongoing learners and young comopany founders who want to know how to run marketing.
We are getting busy and would like students to help us with developing and executing a Socia Media Marketing program with shorter video snippets to further engage viewers and grow our audience.
This will involve several different steps:
- Familiarize yourself with our podcast, YouTube Channel, content, analytics and current social media. (great for marketing grads!)
- Develop a social media strategy with goals to reach our target and grow the audience.
- Identifying social media channels and strategies suitable for our program.
- Plan and help execute short cuts following the full podcast content - weekly and biweekly.
- Balance the need for good branding with getting engaging SoMe content out.
- Monitor metrics with the goal of subscriber and watch time goals.
- Create several snippets of social media content based on clips from the full podcast calendar that engages the audience and grows viewers.
Bonus steps in the process would also include:
- Outside the box thinking - provide recommendations for approval - A 'plus up' program that will accellerate viewer or watch time growth beyond current run rate and in keeping within our brand - (no stinky bait)
By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:
- Understanding of our The Marketing Share's purpose, topics of interest , way to engage our audience and techniques to win audience viewership.
- Identifiy social media channels and strategies to align with our content.
- Identify and execute posts for snippets and full episode content.
- Identification current run rate metrics and winning topics and techniques to achieve goals.
- Create and execute the social media content calendar includig 1-3 video clips to drive engagement and audienc
Bonus steps would include:
- Recommend an out of the box intiative (open to all) to accelerate our progress while keeping in brand.
Final deliverables should include
- A 10-minute presentation on an executable plan for predetermined time alottment.
- Edit 1-3 snippets per podcast - capabiity is appreciated (YT or Riverside tools) but not necessary.
- A two month execution plan that achieves our goals of ongoing promotion of our new content and audience growth for our channel.
Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:
- Our current products and social media marketing
- Our customer and industry insights
- Input on choices, problems or anything else the students might encounter.
