Our company provides regular training for employees, so they are up-to-date on ethics and safety standards as well as changes within the industry. To make training more convenient, we hope to transform our training programs into online courses. We would like to work with students to determine what features and materials employees would find useful in an online training course. Based on this information, students can then recommend the platform that would be most suitable. Tasks include: Gathering relevant course design and content information from interviews / surveys with key stakeholders. Researching options for our online training platform. Assessing existing online training platforms and recommending the best platform for our course. Reviewing our existing training material and making recommendations. Assisting in designing the course and revising training material.
Wellness Program
Our organization is committed to serving our target population. We are looking for new, interactive experiences that enrich and assist members of this population. We would like to collaborate with students to implement a wellness program. Students will have access to key contacts in our organization for feedback on the program planning. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Researching and applying information on wellness programs for the target population. Developing a specific wellness program (e.g. an arts program) suitable for a population with varying abilities. Assisting in planning activities that are inclusive of varying cognitive and physical abilities. Assisting in implementing the program over a period of time. Bonus steps in the process would also include: Recommending future wellness programs to implement.

Identifying topics of future training such as those related to new employee training, new product training, security procedure training, leadership development, diversity training, mentorship programming, or sexual harassment training. Recommending next steps for improving our company’s training programs.
Staffing and Volunteer Recruitment Optimization
Our company has dozens of staff members and volunteers with diverse backgrounds and experiences. However, we have had some challenges recruiting top-quality talent. Finding individuals who can invest their time in our mission can be costly. This project will involve several different steps for the students, including: Documenting the current state of our staff and volunteer recruitment process, from the time the resource need is identified to the time the position is filled. Creating visualizations such as data flow diagrams to identify strengths and pain points in our recruitment process. Assessing our current process and making recommendations for improvements and efficiencies. Documenting and mapping a target state process. Suggesting feedback mechanisms to gather input from staff, volunteers, and applicants.
Hiring Consultancy
Our company has dozens of employees with diverse backgrounds and experiences. However, we have had some challenges hiring and retaining top-quality talent. We would like to collaborate with students to overhaul our hiring process and develop a system for effectively building our workforce. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Familiarizing themselves with recruitment best practices and our values. Evaluating our current recruitment and selection procedures. Developing and recommending hiring systems and processes, based on best practices and our organizational needs. Considering the use of psychometric tests, assessment exercises, and standardized interview practices. Bonus steps in the process would also include: Recommending feedback mechanisms for job applicants.
New Employee Training Development
Our company has a large employee turnover rate for sales roles, meaning that manually providing onboarding tasks with every new employee is an inefficient use of our company’s time. Instead of conducting onboarding in a face-to-face setting, we hope to transition to an online course that will introduce employees to their roles, and show them all of our start-up resources. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Examine the current onboarding process for new hires to identify what should be included in the onboarding process including forms, documentation and information. Establish a logical structure and order for the onboarding process, divided into “segments” or “modules” and their content. Research platforms or websites to automate the onboarding process. Assessing what personality combinations make for a high-functioning team. Analyzing how existing teams can work more cohesively, based on their personality types. Recommending areas of improvement in our HR practices. Surveying employees about the workplace culture. Defining what type of personality profile would be ideal for a set of new hires.
